What if I forgot my wifi name or password?
Routers have two passwords - one for managing the router, and one for the wifi. I generally recommend customers use the wifi password for both passwords. That way if you ever forget the password, it's usually on a sticker on the bottom of the router (check that first).
Router Management Password:
When logging in to your router, you will be asked for a username and/or password. The username (if it requires one) is usually just 'admin' (without the quotes) unless you customized it, and the password is either something you created or the same password as your wifi (what we generally recommend).
If you forgot your login credentials, you may have to reset your router to factory defaults and then reprogram it. So make sure you write down your login credentials and keep it in a safe place so you don't have to do that.
Router Wifi Password:
Most router's have a pre-assigned wifi password that may be found on a label on the back/bottom of the router. It might be called a password, passcode, passphrase, or WPA2 code. If your router does not have a label, and you cannot remember your wifi password, you may need to reset your router to factory defaults and reprogram it.
NOTE: After you reset your router to factory defaults, you will likely not have Internet access until you take the router through the setup wizard. So print all the relevant pages here before you reset the router.
